Achievements
Since our inception in 2014 we have had many achievements that we would like to share with you:
September 2014 | Sheffield Steelkings Sledge Hockey Club Established | |
6 December 2014 | First game | The Steelkings first game was a friendly against the Manchester Phoenix at IceSheffield. |
25 April 2015 | First game as part of the British Sledge Hockey League | Against Kingston Kestrels, Team Captain was David Scivill and the Alternates were Jake Oakley and David Hall |
25 April 2015 | First ever goal | Scored by Barry (Baz) Grayson in our game against the Kingston Kestrels |
29 May 2016 | Longest goal | Scored by John Oakley. John hit the puck from within our defensive zone and managed to score on a very unsuspecting Peterborough Phantoms goalie |
7 August 2016 | Most penalty minutes in a single game | This was achieved by Jake Oakley who managed to pick up 14 penalty points in our game against the Kingston Kestrels |
18 June 2017 | First game won | With a final score of 10 to the Steelkings and 2 to the Manchester Mayhem, this was the game that gave us our first win and proved that we really are a team to be reckoned with |
18 June 2017 | First Hat Trick | Achieved by Gary Farmer in our game against Manchester Mayhem |
18 June 2017 | Most goals by a player in a single game | An amazing 7 goals scored by Gary Farmer in our game against Manchester Mayhem |
8th July 2017 | First Shut Out | On our away game against the Cardiff Huskies, netminder Rachel Rawson got the Steelkings their first Shut Out, the the club winning the game 0 – 6 |
26th August 2017 | First qualified for the Play Offs | After an exciting home game against the Peterborough Phantoms, the Steekings qualified for the play offs by taking the Phantoms to Overtime, and then went on to win the game in a penalty shoot out. |
